K-Tips/ Keratin Tips

Pre-bonded keratin tipped hair extensions are the most versatile and low maintenance extensions. The brands we utilize are free of glue, resin, plastic + adhesive. The bond is applied to a small section of hair allowing them to maximum amount of movement and are virtually undetectable. We use a warm fusion tool to melt the bond and wrap it around the hair about 1/8”away from the scalp so there is flexibility without tension. When applied + cared for properly they offer damage free natural-looking results for up to 4-5 months. At this time the extensions are to be professionally removed and discarded. K-tipped hair is not reusable. Some guests choose to maintain their K-tips with a “fill” where some extensions are removed every 6-8 weeks and replaced with new ones continuing the process. These appointments typically take about 1.5-2.5 hrs. Full applications of K-tips tend to be on the higher price structure because the hair must be replaced each time, but are also the most customizable because they can be cut into extremely small pieces and applied within an 1” of the hairline and through the crown if desired. They are ideal for all hair types and densities.

CombLine

CombLine is an innovative new extension method similar to V Light extensions in the strand-by-strand application. They are non-carcinogenic, use no UV lights, heat or resins in the process. They are an extremely versatile hair enhancement application that can be applied into the hairline, fringe, part, crown, back and sides of the hair without detection. CombLine can be applied on ALL hair types and textures. It is the perfect solution to add volume to thinning hair, add highlights or a pop of color. The CombLine application uses a medical grade adhesive to attach the strands of hair. These bonds are lightweight, so it does not put any stress on the follicle.

They can last 4-8+ weeks depending on where they have been placed in the hair, and if the correct aftercare has been followed. Like all other hair extension systems, Combline will shed with your own hair. Pricing is based per area + per desired density. After the initial install it is recommended to return for your first fill after 2-3 weeks to achieve maximum fullness. After this, fills are recommended on a 3-5 week basis and priced accordingly.

Hair Replacement Systems

A Hair Replacement system (hair piece/toupee) is 100% human hair that is attached to a base material, typically made of lace or polyurethane. These are worn to cover a part of the scalp that has hair loss.

Hair systems are a non surgical option because they provide men who have male pattern baldness an opportunity to conceal their hair loss with an immediate, effective solution. This system is securely attached to your scalp using a skin friendly adhesive or tape. Every new system should be custom fitted to you by a professional, However they can easily be taken off and reapplied for at home maintenance.

Mens hair replacement involves the careful selection and application of high quality hair that matches the clients natural hair color, texture and style. The process includes a complimentary consultation, scalp measurements and customizing the hair system to perfectly fit the individual's unique needs. The system is then meticulously attached to the scalp, blending seamlessly with existing hair to create the most natural appearance.

We start by determining the area on the scalp to be replaced, we then craft an ideal hairline for the client. Next you shave and remove any remaining hair left on the area that is looking to be replaced. After attaching the system we make customizations and finish with a haircut.

The durability of hair systems greatly depends on how you maintain it at home. We use three different types of units.

  • Extra thin skin : 2-3 months, most natural looking hairline

  • Thin skin: 3-6 months, most durable and easiest to clean

  • Lace: 3-6 months, most breathable

Tape-In Extensions

Tape in Extensions utilize medical grade adhesive it adhere to the hair. The hair is then sandwiched in-between either another tape in extension or a single sided tape (for guests with less density). Maintenance includes removal with an alcohol or mineral oil based spray, removal of the old tape, application of the new tape and reapplication of the extension about 1/8” away from the scalp. Move up appointments are every 6-8 weeks and can take up to 2.5 hrs. Tape in extensions are typically 1/2”-1” in length and 1/2”-1/4” in height. These extensions are reusable up to 4-5 times after which new hair needs to be purchased + installed. These extensions are not ideal for guests with fine and/or thin hair. The downfalls of tape ins are the size, which can be more detectable, and the fact they use adhesive which can sometimes slip or leave buildup on the hair if certain products are used. They are great for pops of color or to add some volume or length to medium or course hair of normal to thick density.

Sew-in Extensions

Sew in Extensions offer versatile, damage free, low maintenance options for guests of all hair types. There are multiple methods + types of hair. Hair types include machine wefts, hand tied wefts, hybrid or genius wefts and also include some specialty brand wefts that are new to the market. All wefts can be customized in length + layered to achieve the most blended looks. There are multiple application methods + certifications when it comes to sew in extensions. Some of the most popular methods right now are IBE (Invisible Beaded Extensions), NBR (Natural Beaded Rows) and Illusion or Camo applications. Each method offers a different placement of the beads into the guests hair onto which the weft is sewn. The placement of the wefts also varies depending on the method. The guest then returns every 7-10 weeks for a “move up” where the weft is removed, beads are replaced about 1/8-1/6” away from the scalp and the weft if sewn back in. These appointments typically take 45min-2 hrs. With some methods, “mini move-ups” are available where the guest can return after about 2-6 weeks and the beads can be loosened, old hair is combed out and the beads are moved up. Wefts can be reused for up to 6-12 months if cared for properly.

Clip in Extensions

Clip in extensions offer a a great temporary alternative to other extension methods.  Clip in extensions are made specifically for a night out or special event.  They are NOT made to be worn on a daily or even a weekly basis.  Because of the attachment method, where the hair is backcombed and then a clip is secured into the texturized section of hair, clip in extensions can cause breakage if not applied properly or if worn too often.  If worn on a regular basis the weight of the clip in extension can cause trauma to the hair follicle resulting in permanent damage.  We offer clip in’s as a service in salon. As a service, which we help you decide which slip in extensions are best for your specific needs, custom match you hair + order the extensions. Before your appointment we prep your extensions so they are ready to go when you arrive. We show you how to install the extensions during the application process, label them for ease of placement and cut them to blend seamlessly with your own hair. We style them according to your preferences and also educate you on how to maintain your extensions for longevity. We offer product care packages and insight on styling tips and tricks.  Continued support is offered through our Instagram, Pintrest and social media where you can find styling inspo and tutorials for your extensions. Clip in extensions can last multiple years if cared for properly.

* All maintenance appointment times + longevity of the hair is approximated.  This truly depends on how your care for your own hair + the extensions.  Using professional grade products and caring for your hair as directed by your stylist will determine how often you will need appointments, appointments length and how long your hair will last.

FAQS about Hair Replacement Systems

  • I charge $800 for the initial system installation and haircut, the systems I use last between 3-6 months (sometimes more) and that is when you will need a new system. Re-Application cost ranges from $150-$200 depending on how often you come in. Application times vary but most last between 2-4 weeks. A lot of clients do their own applications!

  • Re-application times vary depending on method of application and person to person. Tape is typically easier for at home installations however require more re applications as its only meant to hold for 10-14 days. Glue can sometimes hold for 3-4 weeks at a time. We have some clients we only see when they need new systems and do their own at home maintenance, others come based on their needs some come every 2/3 weeks, some every 5. Your experience varies based on your expectations, what you are capable doing at home, how often you can get in and your beauty budget. Some people might be able to get 3-4 weeks out of tape while others only get 1-2 weeks using glue, it all varies based on lifestyle and body chemistry.

  • It can be from time to time, depending on the application method, when the hair underneath starts growing back sometimes this can cause itchiness, but nothing crazy.

  • Yes! just be aware and be cautious I personally have gone wakeboarding, and jumped off bridges into water wearing mine! Make sure to shower after any type of swimming to keep the hair clean and healthy.

  • No, the adhesives are advanced and do not block your follicles or clog your pores. You will continue to grow hair underneath the system without any change to the amount of hair or speed that it grows.

  • YES, each hair system is human hair and is made by hand. It may have synthetic fibers added throughout if there is a high percentage of gray. In some cases the hair may be combined with yak hair which is very human-like.

  • With the adhesive I use, I recommend application every 2-3 weeks. While the tape needs to be adjusted every 1-2 weeks. I personally love the tape adhesive, even if it needs to be reapplied more regularly because its very easy to clean and easy to learn to apply it yourself at home. I am a firm believer in empowering my clients to know how to reapply their system on their own

  • My preferred systems last between 3-6 months. A lot of this has to do with your lifestyle and how well you care for your system. If you’re a very active outdoorsy person, expect shorter lifespan of the hair system.

  • Walker Tape, Sunshine Tape and Ghost Bond are trustworthy reliable brands to order you tape or glues from, they offer multiple products so I recommend trying many of them to see what works best for you.

  • If applied and maintained correctly, your system will be pretty undetectable. How you style and wear your system also depends, some exposed hairlines will be noticeable to you, but most likely not to others. If you are hiding your hairline there is absolutely no way to tell. Sometimes we are our own worst critic, wear it with confidence, and no one will be paying attention to it. I also say sometimes embracing a messy look works well to deceive others, a lot of times people who have their hair perfect draw more attention.

  • Wearing a hair system is like wearing contact lenses… It takes a little bit of practice and getting used to, but once you get the hang of it- it’s very quick and effective.
